i believe…
All kids want to be happy. All parents want happy kids. The hard part is getting there. I am here to help bridge the gap. I have worked with children and families for most of my life. As a speech-language pathologist, feeding therapist, and literacy specialist both in the school system and in private practice, I started to notice that while parents came to me for specific speech and language concerns, we always ended up talking more broadly about a variety of developmental areas, and even more so, about personal areas of concern for the parents themselves.
“How can I help them get along with their peers?”
“How can I help make sure they’re eating ‘the right’ foods?” (Hint: By not telling them foods are good or bad, just that they can be yummy and help their bodies grow)
“How can I yell less and still have my child follow our family expectations?”
“How can we have an easier bedtime?”
“How can I follow my heart and go after the career I want?”
“How do I take time for myself without feeling guilty?”
Working together you will gain the strategies to bring happiness into your home and into your life.
By seeking outside knowledge, you have already put your family on the right track for greatness. You have the skills within you to be the best parent for your kids and the best version of yourself. Not the happy-all-the-time parent, but the thoughtful, fun, and does the hard-but-right-thing parent.
Sometimes we all need an outsiders look in to make the changes we need. I know that I need to exercise to feel good, but it took sessions with a trainer to tell me that my form was off, that I wasn’t doing the right type of exercise for my body. That’s what I’m here to help your family with. You have the skills, you just need help putting everything into place.
Take the leap and jump in to a happier family today!
